John Stephen Veitch | | Was that an advertisement Michael?
The instructions for posts to this network suggest the following: Try to ask non-trivial questions. Try to write interesting and thoughtful replies. Try to write things that will be useful to your readers.
So my question is does your post offer anything useful to your readers?
Perhaps it might. It certainly pretends to do so. So I spent 30 minutes checking out who Michael R Clayton is, and looking into the background of the 13 listed speakers at the Mega Networking Event.
Of those speakers ONE has a significant and worthwhile profile on LinkedIn. You can see from that what he's done and how he has actively networked with thousands of people.
Of the others the average number of LinkedIn connections is 13, and the mean is 10. NONE of them have a well developed LinkedIn profile.
I'm sure these people can entertain you for 2-3 days but I wouldn't expect you to learn anything useful. I'd expect that other scam "The Secret" to appear several times.
I can't find Michael R Clayton on LinkedIn, but he is on Ryze, but like the "Clayton's the drink you have when you are not having a drink", Michael R Clayton tells you nothing about himself at all and offers 1001 scams for entertainment.
The chief feature of Michael's Ryze page is the invitation to join a dodgy "LOTTO" programme.
He also offers links to "Lifewave", "adlandpro" and what pretends to be a business blog.
On this page Michael R Clayton appears in person in an audio interview. http://www.davesonlineworld.com/tool_time.html
He also has a personal web site here: http://www.networking.love-au.com/ I think you can tell the quality of the tree by the fruit it produces. I'm not in favour of MLM schemes and a advertising programmes and programmes to deliver more hits to your web site. All those programmes are SCAMS.
I write about the benefits of networking on Ryze and the benefits of participation here: http://www.ryze.com/posttopic.php?topicid=1021203&confid=3530

Michael R Clayton | | Hi John Christina
John most of the top businessmen in the world are not members at Linkedin.
John this is a world first marketing event, if this is not good information I don't know what is.
All the mentioned sites on my post are totally legal and most have been in business over 10 years.
If you will give me a postal address I will post you proof that none of these businesses are scams.
John it seems you have developed a very negative mind set to something that is Australian and very progressive.
I do appreciate your putting time into having a good look and making a comment.
John what were your thoughts on the 3 hours of marketing Audio/Video?
Christina I hope you will take a look also.
I remain your friend

John Stephen Veitch | | Hello Michael
I got into you with some fairly strong statements. Your considered reply is encouraging.
I saw a promise of a three hour video, but I've not viewed it. I think the event is being oversold.
It seems to me that some leading Melbourne business consultants and public speakers have been coordinated to work together to offer a joint presentation.
Some of these speakers claim to have special expertise, and that may or may not be so. After 30 years of seeing presentations and making not a small number myself, I'm skeptical that there is any value in the "great speaker" format.
It seems to me that the NETWORKING aspect of the Melbourne event might have great value, but the people involved with one of two exceptions perhaps are not deeply involved in networking.
As for the "products" you are promoting, let's discuss that in a different thread if you want to take it up.

Michael R Clayton | | Hi John
The real value in this event is that it is designed to let the participants get to know each other and in turn they may all get more business or support.
The fact that people are little know does not mean what they have to say is of little value. I find the events I have attended in Melbourne quite uplifting and I have made many friends and this has also benefited my online business.
John you should also visit The Hive event web page. The hive is another Melbourne/Australian group who hold mainly free events. There is a lot of innovation coming out of Melbourne.
