When I compare Social Networking Newbies with what I want to achieve here, I remain disappointed.

For instance there are 42 people here who joined in October.
Of those 14 have made good progress in the last 30 days. Sadly, 28 members have not made any real progress over that time.

So I'm disappointed.

But then I do a comparison with people who joined Ryze, but didn't join this network, and I see the progress we have made. This works. SHARE the knowledge.

Here is my PROOF, the Social Networking Newbies helps you ALL to be successful on Ryze.

First of all 25 randomly selected people who joined Ryze in September but did NOT join Social Networking Newbies. There are some successes here.

Home page hits: the top five: 65, 40, 18, 15, 14
The median: 7
The bottom five: 2, 2, 2, 1, 1

42 Members of Social Networking Newbies
Home page hits: the top five: 106, 95, 81, 71, 48
The median: 26
The bottom five: 16, 15, 15, 14, 13
Note that our bottom was better than the median for the non-members.

Networks Joined
Members 42 people joined 470 networks in total. Median 5
Non-members 25: joined 119 networks in total. Median 2

Guest Books.
42 Members: 149 Guest Book entries. Median 3
25 Non-members: 35 Guest Book entries. Median 0

What does that tell us? People who joined Ryze and this network in October 2009, are TWICE as successful as people who joined Ryze in the same month, and didn't happen to join this network.

This result is only marginally better than we achieved the previous month. So what am I learning from this mixture of failure and success? There is a pattern in the successes. Divide the group in half. Those who joined early in the month, and had to hang about a bit before the group began, and those who joined later.

The early joiners didn't do well, even thought they were here longer and had more time to succeed. Only six of them are in the top 14, and only one of those did very well.

Of the later group there are 8 in the top 14 including 5 of the highest scores. What can we learn from that? If people can get started quickly when they are enthusiastic they do better. Is that the answer? Maybe you can tell me.

65% of the members hardly lifted a finger all month. Discouraged already?

Close to the same number have still not written even a simple statement about themselves on their Ryze Homepages. I wonder why that seems to be so hard.

I now think that some people are just not READY, to be online and to be active members of a group like October Newbies. So when I form a group and say "you are ALL in this highly visible GROUP, some people responded by going into hiding. Fear. Everything you do is visible. Lot's of people are not ready for that YET.

So we'll do something different with the November Newbies.
