October Newbies Statistics -Views: 812

I've just taken a set of start off statistics for the October Newbies. 42 people now the dust has settled.

Let me demonstrate the numbers typical of Ryze members AFTER one month, just by giving you homepage hits.
Home page hits: the top five: 65, 40, 18, 15, 14
The median: 7
The bottom five: 2, 2, 2, 1, 1

Our October Newbies in comparison some only 6-7 days on Ryze.
(Some have been here just on a month. None have had any special coaching besides the information available to everyone.)
Home page hits: the top five: 60, 48, 45, 42, 41
The median: 18
The bottom five: 10, 9, 9, 6, 6

I hope in 30 days time that median will be 28 of better. And the top number could be something close to 200. That's a years work for most people in 30 days. It can be done.

I'd like the bottom numbers to be close to 30, but that's a challenge I have little control over.

The median number of networks joined is FIVE. That's not enough, I've made it extremely clear for the beginning, the primary error newbies make is not joining enough networks. The median should be above 14, and the minimum should be about 10.

Top five: 55, 30, 17, 15, 15
Bottom Five: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1

Of course if the median is 5 HALF the members have joined 5 or fewer networks. That's something we can easily change.
50% of the October Newbies have a small task to do. Try for TEN+.

In 30 days the results of the October Newbies will be GREAT. An some of you guys will go on to be famous, at least on Ryze.

23 days have passed.

I'm not very pleased with the numbers the October Newbies are producing. 42 people:
For 13 of them, there have been zero visits to their Ryze homepage if you subtract my visits. Nothing happening, zero. Not even the member visiting his or her own homepage.

There are 15 people who have one or two home page visits only in addition to my visits. That means in 23 days they came to Ryze once or twice. Two people have see those pages, the page owner and me. That's not what Ryze is about.

66% of the October Newbies have done NOTHING about any of the suggestions made. I've spent far more time on their Ryze pages than they have and that doesn't please me. So let's ignore them and talk about the successes.

There are SIX people who's pages I intend to highlight in the next few days. There are 8 others who've made some useful progress.

Home page hits: the top five: 89, 69, 64, 63, 62
The median: 25
The bottom five: 15, 14, 14, 13, 12

With 66% of the group not actively contributing it's impossible to drive up the bottom numbers. The median has shifted from 18 to 25 because of four visits to each page that I made, and because of own page visits. Not because people are following the suggestions made.

We don't have a bolter who's going to get 200 homepage visits in a month.

There are five people who will go close to 100, and that is three times better than I recommend people try to achieve. 100 homepage visits a month is evidence of hard work.

There are nine people who could still have a very satisfactory outcome if they choose to be coachable. A week to go. I don't need to tell you what to do. You've been told, over and over, read the many posts in this network. The work is necessary. People can see both what you do and what you neglect to do. It's all visible on your Ryze page.

When I compare Social Networking Newbies with what I want to achieve here, I remain disappointed.

For instance there are 42 people here who joined in October.
Of those 14 have made good progress in the last 30 days. Sadly, 28 members have not made any real progress over that time.

So I'm disappointed.

But then I do a comparison with people who joined Ryze, but didn't join this network, and I see the progress we have made. This works. SHARE the knowledge.

Here is my PROOF, the Social Networking Newbies helps you ALL to be successful on Ryze.

First of all 25 randomly selected people who joined Ryze in September but did NOT join Social Networking Newbies. There are some successes here.

Home page hits: the top five: 65, 40, 18, 15, 14
The median: 7
The bottom five: 2, 2, 2, 1, 1

42 Members of Social Networking Newbies
Home page hits: the top five: 106, 95, 81, 71, 48
The median: 26
The bottom five: 16, 15, 15, 14, 13
Note that our bottom was better than the median for the non-members.

Networks Joined
Members 42 people joined 470 networks in total. Median 5
Non-members 25: joined 119 networks in total. Median 2

Guest Books.
42 Members: 149 Guest Book entries. Median 3
25 Non-members: 35 Guest Book entries. Median 0

What does that tell us? People who joined Ryze and this network in October 2009, are TWICE as successful as people who joined Ryze in the same month, and didn't happen to join this network.

This result is only marginally better than we achieved the previous month. So what am I learning from this mixture of failure and success? There is a pattern in the successes. Divide the group in half. Those who joined early in the month, and had to hang about a bit before the group began, and those who joined later.

The early joiners didn't do well, even thought they were here longer and had more time to succeed. Only six of them are in the top 14, and only one of those did very well.

Of the later group there are 8 in the top 14 including 5 of the highest scores. What can we learn from that? If people can get started quickly when they are enthusiastic they do better. Is that the answer? Maybe you can tell me.

65% of the members hardly lifted a finger all month. Discouraged already?

Close to the same number have still not written even a simple statement about themselves on their Ryze Homepages. I wonder why that seems to be so hard.

I now think that some people are just not READY, to be online and to be active members of a group like October Newbies. So when I form a group and say "you are ALL in this highly visible GROUP, some people responded by going into hiding. Fear. Everything you do is visible. Lot's of people are not ready for that YET.

So we'll do something different with the November Newbies.
