In January I put about 50 hours work into this network for tiny results. Yes 34 members did join, and there were 21 posts. But there was very little interest in a February Newbies group.

I did a little private work with the four who volunteered but that didn't go very far. For all the work I did, most of the people I was trying to work with did little of nothing. My TIME is my LIFE. I'm happy to help people, but you've got to do your bit.

In February, Lamar Morgan offered three new topics and got no response. Igor Kuznetsov, asked for a critique, and that letter got 8 replies. 12 people joined.

March was a non-event. Lamar wrote two letters and got no response. 14 people joined, but four of those tried immediately to spam the network.
In March I was busy on my own business web site,
http://www.openfuture.co.nz

In particular I've added the ability to comment on each of the pages, and added video to many of the pages. What I'd really like to do is start a conversation there. You could help, and I in turn could help you. Here's how.

Find a topic in the Open Future site that interests you, and write a comment. 10 lines would be great. You can use a nom-de-plume or your name, and you can offer a link to any site you choose. (Your Ryze page, or to LinkedIn, or to your business web site.) That will create a link back to your site, that Google will pick up, and COUNT, adding to the credibility of your site.

What I've just explained is the key principle of online social networking. YOU need to ACT, to HELP someone else. To do that you first of all need to get to know something about them, you need to invest yourself a little in that.

Social Networking Newbies is a network that can help you LEARN how to succeed online. If you already "know it all", this is not the place for you.

I'll write later on today, a post to consolidate in one letter what people who are new here should try to do.
