Hi Everybody,

I've been looking at the Network rules and the posting guidelines to see if advertising is banned. I'm surprised, it's not. That was an oversight on my part, but advertising on Ryze networks is no longer the problem it once was.

So Deva Raj has fallen into the beginner trap. Join Ryze, join a lot of networks and immediately spam them with your advertisement. Deva Raj joined Ryze about 7th of this month. He's joined 19 networks, and the first communication on our network anyway is the spam message.

Not good form. The web design may be fine, but the understanding of social networks and how they really work is missing.

So let us talk about the topic: Branding and Corporate Communication.

There's lots of talk online about Corporate Blogs and the use of Twitter. Not much action on the ground.

In my recent research I discovered in a group of 90 people, three people who read blogs, one person who wrote one. Three people use Twitter. Three people are LinkedIn members. 39 were on Facebook, but nobody mentioned anything else but personal friends and family as a reason for being on Facebook. Nobody on Ryze.

I believe there is commercial value in being involved in online social networks but the value is not obvious and it's NOT in the opportunity to advertise.

Where the value is might be something people here would like to debate.

Interesting topic here. Branding your company is more important than the actual marketing strategy.

Most of the companies ignore to promote their business as a brand and end up getting engrossed into marketing strategies.

Most of the powerful brands have excellent website design and use creative heads to create promotion campaigns on wide range of medias including internet, television and various others.
