Those who are registered on Online Groups already have this post in your email. If you wish you can reply from there, just hit reply, and write your letter.

For those who are not on Online Groups yet (Most of you) here's the link.
http://snn.onlinegroups.net/r/topic/3biLAtmBbcBPWtCodyMLv4

That takes you to a web page. You can reply from that web page. You can also subscribe to a RSS Feed for the group, this is the link for that.

Hello John.

I've been to your site more than once. I see a login box
but nothing, anywhere, about registering.

Where is a link to register as a member?

When people follow a link from here to Online Groups they can read all the posts. VISITORS are able to read the posts.

At the bottom of the posts there is a two line statement.

"You cannot post because you are not logged in. If you are a member Social Networking Newbies, login to post to this topic. Otherwise sign up, become a member of Social Networking Newbies, and post to this topic."

So there are two options given. Login or sign up.
I'm taking the RSS feed. There is a delay, but it's so much easier for me because I'm also reading a lot of blogs on RSS.

Hiya John.

I did get signed up and registered. The purpose of having
a group here and there is still a bit of a mystery to me.

I KNOW what you mean by what you have been saying, but for
Ryze newbie information, it's best to post that here, at
Ryze, don't you think?

I realize you are going outside so the emails and RSS feeds
can be handled differently and more to your own
satisfaction.

It seems though that this ryze group is being used for
links only to an outside entity. I also realize you are
doing more than just Ryze help and for that, I understand
going somewhere else to present.

If I am mentoring for Ryze though, I'd like to post my
helpful hints here, at Ryze.

Sound OK?

Eileen :D

Hello Eileen

The key thing about Online Groups, is that inside the sub domain "Social Networking Newbies" I can form as many independent groups as I like, hundreds if needed.

There are already three groups: one public and two private. When you go to Online Groups you can only see the public group. "Social Networking Newbies Forum". Everyone is a VISITOR when they first go there. They have to CHOOSE to join, to do something active. There is a link were Visitors can Register.

Once they join they get every post as an email. Or they can choose to turn the email off. Each member can also choose to get the posts by RSS feed. If you post directly to RYZE those tools can't function.

There is a private group for MENTORS. That group has only one member at the moment.

There is a private group for the people I'm mentoring. That group also has only one member at the moment.

I can create a new private group for every MENTOR who's approved. In your own group YOU have control over who you invite. If you are looking after six people it's going to be much more efficient for you if you can write to them all at once. And if they can reply to the group too.

None of this stops any of the normal posting on Ryze. You can still post on Ryze as you have been doing, you can still use Ryze PM.

What I want to achieve here is a little bit bigger than "success on Ryze". The network is for Social Networking Newbies. So we help people to apply there skills on other networks too. And we are interested in teaching people new skills. Like how to use RSS Feeds.

So using Online Groups for ALL the Substantial Posts, all the posts that are part of the main discussion here is an important objective. In Online Groups every post is given TAGS, based on keywords, and there is a search engine to find posts on topics of interest. I don't know if that search engine is better than the Ryze one of not. I do know the Ryze one is pretty hopeless.

I'm not asking you to post TWICE. I'm asking you to post ONCE in the Social Networking Newbies Forum, at Online Groups. We should make sure there is a new post on Ryze pointing to new threads at Online Groups. And if a topic under discussion is off the list of posts on the SNN Ryze page, to refresh it and bring it to the top. But that's only necessary for NEW people to this network, because EVERYBODY will be getting the posts directly, by email or by RSS feed. If they are not, they aren't interested anyway.

I know this is not what you are used to doing, but it's exactly the same process as posting on Ryze, except you don't get to preview your post before you send it.
