There's a basic "to do list" at the top of the homepage for the Social Networking Newbies Network. Read it carefully.
In particular check out these FIVE links. Take Action - Build a foundation
Complete your personal info. http://www.ryze.com/userinfo.php Make this information fairly full. Can you include a business web site, your blog, and perhaps your profile on some other site like LinkedIn.
There's also a Have: and Want: line to fill in. That's often used by people to see "who you are" at a glance.
Include a photograph of YOU http://www.ryze.com/photoedit.php A head shot is best. If you choose to use a business logo here, can you put a photo of yourself onto your page?
Write 15-25 lines about yourself http://www.ryze.com/edit.php There are many ways to do this. I've recommended that you explore what other people have done. Many of you apparently find it hard, almost impossible, to write about yourself. That's a basic online skill everyone needs to learn.
Open your Guest Book http://www.ryze.com/preferences.php It's difficult to work on Ryze if your guest book isn't open to everyone. There is an option of having a Friends Only guest book, but if you've only got 10 friends that doesn't make much sense either.
Join at least TEN Ryze networks http://www.ryze.com/networks.php One of the big successes of my Welcome the Ryze, guest book entries is that many people are now joining 3-4 networks when they used to join none. But long experience tells me that to sustain your interest you must join more than that.
**************************
Early next week I'm going to check out the Ryze pages of all the September Newbies. I'm looking for more people I can recommend because they have dome good work.
The following day I'll check out all the October Newbies. Once again I'll be looking for people I can recommend as good examples of what you should all be doing on Ryze.
I'll make a final call on the October Newbies at the end of the month. At that time I'll collect some statistics on how much progress has or hasn't been made.
The next task will be to see how well the November Newbies have got on, so far, and to make a plan for them.
ONE CHANGE I'll signal now. More than half the October Newbies didn't even visit their own Ryze pages in the first 12 days of this month. I suspect that many of them have still done NOTHING. Each one has cost me about 30 minutes so far. That's too much investment of my time for too little reward. The POWER is in your hands, use it or you'll quietly disappear into the "black hole".
The 30 or 50 November Newbies will be asked to Register with me privately. I'll only visit and give time to those who submit their names. That wasn't the grand idea I started with. I believe we should all be in together, and that we can all be successful.
That remains true, but work comes first.
***************** Have you made a short post recommending a network you've discovered? Have you put your name and a short comment in several guest books? Have you sorted out who owns the best 10 Ryze home pages you've found? Have you made your own post on the Introduction thread yet?
